Suggested revisions to the bylaws, and a rainbow!

LOFA members, please click here to review the revisions to the bylaws that were submitted at last week’s Annual Meeting by Board member Jim Hannemann. If you have any comments, email them to lofassociation@gmail.com or talk to any Board member before the September 2nd Board meeting. (The current version of our bylaws can be read here.) Thanks.

And while you’re doing that, enjoy this beautiful rainbow over the lake, captured on film (or whatever) by Di Sino. Thanks for the picture, Di! (To really appreciate this, click on the picture to enlarge.)

LOFA Picnic 2018

We had record-setting attendance at this year’s picnic as 52 people enjoyed brats, burgers and lots of delicious side dishes and desserts on a really beautiful day, last Sunday July 29. A big thanks to Jeremy “Muskie Hunter” Wehrmann for manning the grill, to Tom at Beaver’s for his very generous donation of food and supplies, and to everyone who helped set up and take down. Randy did a great job putting it all together, and everyone had a good time. Terry Thayer won the 50/50 raffle and kindly donated his winnings back to the Association, and Amy Thayer won free dues for next year.

Our membership meeting and election of new officers took place before the picnic. Read the minutes and election results here.

Our annual picnic is right around the corner!

The LOFA annual general membership meeting and picnic will be held on Sunday, July 29  at Beaver’s Resort on Lake of the Falls Road. The meeting will start at 11:00 am with the picnic immediately following.

We’ll vote for new officers (President, Secretary and two at-large directors) and we will discuss 2 proposed amendments to the LOFA bylaws. Details are available in this year’s Summer Newsletter, which you can access by clicking here. And if there is anything else lake-related that you’d like to talk about, this is a great time to do it!

Please feel free to bring family members and houseguests. Our menu will include brats, burgers, and beverages; if you would like to bring a dish to pass, please feel free to do so, and bring your lawn chairs if you have them. If you haven’t already paid your membership dues, you can pay them at the picnic, and if you would like to participate in the 50/50 raffle, don’t forget to bring some cash!

Tent set-up will be Saturday, July 28 at about 10:00 am. Volunteers are always welcome.

Come on out! It’s a great way to meet your neighbors around the lake. Hope to see you there.

The 2018 Summer Newsletter is in the mail

. . .and also here on the website! It includes details about the Annual Picnic, a couple of proposed changes to the Association’s bylaws, updates on efforts to bring Broadband service to Lake of the Falls, and everything you need to know about the Wisconsin Walleye Initiative. Which I bet you didn’t even know you needed! Feedback is always welcome. Post a comment here or send a note to the LOFA Board at lofassociation@gmail.com.

LOFA Picnic 2017

We had a beautiful day for our annual picnic on Sunday, August 5. Thanks to Randy Roets for organizing it, James Wehrmann for cooking the burgers and brats (6 years in a row!), and everyone else who helped with the tent, brought food, and showed up with smiling faces. And thanks to Beaver’s Resort for letting us party on the lawn! Congratulations to Clayton Lester whose 95th birthday we celebrated, and to the winners of the 50/50 raffle. Jim Hanneman won the grand prize and generously donated it back to the Association, Fred and Joan Sass won free dues for next year, and Donna Roets won a fishing rod and Night Bobby donated by Bill and Nancy Dalpiaz.
