At our Annual Meeting on August 4, Wisconsin DNR water resources management specialist Kevin Gauthier gave a fascinating presentation in which he showed us the results of the Directed Lakes Survey he and his team conducted on Lake of the Falls and First Black Lake in 2023. Kevin emphasized the healthy diversity of plant life in our lake and encouraged us to do whatever we can to preserve this special place for future generations. The best way for us to do that is through responsible shoreline stewardship. The LOFA board will be considering some possible follow-up projects to help encourage this, at the next meeting, on September 15.
