New habitat for more fish
The Deep Water Fish Stick Project, which was presented to the LOFA membership at this summer’s annual meeting by Stephen Bayer and Dave Anderson, is progressing nicely! _ We have initial approval from the WDNR, and are notifying the public of the work to be completed this winter. Once the lake is frozen, we will drag log structures onto the ice at the red locations on the map. When the ice melts in the spring, these structures will sink to the bottom and rest in 10-12 feet of water to create new habitat for fish. If they are successful, in 2 to 3 years time we have approval to add more structures at the yellow locations! _ Stay tuned for more information as the project goes along, and feel free to ask us any questions. This should be a great project, and hopefully improve the fish habitat on the lake. Thanks to Stephen and his crew for putting in so much time and effort on this!
